Here's a like new Springfield Mil SPEC GI style 1911 in 45ACP with numerous upgrades.
Ideally, you can go all out and get weird triggers, beavertails, grips, etc. This is a stage 1 build. It's got almost everything that you might want to do while keeping the gun vintage appearing, which is important on these Mil Spec Models.
Hand selected gun for lockup and tightness - squeezes oil out of rear channels,
Stone/wet abrasive slide-to-frame points, smooth action,
Polished feed ramps
Polished Barrel Throat
Verified barrel link size for best lockup (with calipers)
Nighthawk Match grade Stainless barrel bushing and matching recoil spring plug
0.581" ID and 0.799 OD, which is nice a tight. Zero wobble. Does not require tool
Re-profiled sear, hand-polished trigger, disconnector, squared hammer/sear face
hand-stoned trigger bar channels,
Stoned/deburred grip safety edged for clearance and re-blued, widen/deepened detent for thumb safety for strong engagement and audible "snap" on and off.
Trigger breaks at almost exactly 4.0 lbs and breaks very cleanly without creep
stone and polish trigger rails for burrs and finish, straightened on trigger stirrup for squareness
Wet-honed mainspring housing with fine hone,
Slide/frame still not even broken in yet, so will get smoother over time an interpretation of what the best version of this GI pistol could be with a couple hard parts and alot of tuning and elbow grease. The next phase would be much further down the rabbit hole in parts and can end up costing around another $500 or so. (I can give you a list of fun parts if you want to continue blowing money, but it won't really get much better than this until you've shot 15,000 rounds and wear something out on the gun). This is for someone who wants a badass GI spec looking gun with a match grade bushing, three dot sights, and the forged steel of a US made gun. Doing all this to a colt would be around $500+ more. I usually like doing Tisas guns, but these Springfield ones come from the factory with parts that can be upgraded instead of replaced. You have to tear a pre-2022 Tisas apart and replace everything.
This pistol is mostly about the old school look. It's a decently tuned stock looking gun that will outperform most anything that looks like a stock GI 45acp. It's not meant to outcompete Dan Wesson or Wilson Combat or Stage 2-3 stuff. You're saving quite a bit here on this one instead of send your own gun out to a gunsmith, yourself. There's a guy not far from me who does custom finishes, as well. I can gladly refer you to him.
